A provider-specific approach

MSBs, payment firms, fintech platforms and crypto companies rarely succeed with generic account applications. Each provider has its own risk appetite for licence types, customer markets, transaction corridors, digital assets, nested payment flows and source-of-funds profiles.

Meridian assesses the operating model first, then identifies realistic supported routes. The objective may be an operating bank account, safeguarding arrangement, collection account, virtual IBANs, FX capability, settlement rails or access to a payment institution. Different objectives may require different providers.

The banking-readiness file

  • Corporate documents and ownership chart
  • Director, shareholder and UBO KYC
  • Licence or registration evidence and regulator links
  • Concise business and product description
  • Customer, counterparty and country profile
  • End-to-end funds-flow diagram and settlement explanation
  • Expected volumes, currencies, balances and transaction sizes
  • AML/CTF policies, risk assessment and compliance contacts
  • Financial statements, forecasts and source-of-funds evidence
  • Key supplier, technology and commercial agreements where relevant

A coherent pack reduces avoidable questions, but it does not remove enhanced due diligence or guarantee acceptance.

How the process works

  1. Assessment: we review the company, licence, owners, markets, products and desired account functionality.
  2. Gap analysis: missing documents or weak explanations are identified before submission.
  3. Provider route: we select supported institutions with a plausible appetite for the profile.
  4. Application: forms, narrative and supporting files are coordinated.
  5. Follow-up: we help respond to compliance and enhanced-due-diligence questions.
All accounts and payment facilities are subject to independent provider approval. Meridian cannot guarantee approval, timing, limits, pricing or the continuation of an account.

Frequently asked questions

Can you guarantee an account for a licensed company?

No. Providers conduct independent underwriting even when the applicant is licensed or registered.

Do you work with start-ups without transaction history?

Potentially, if the business model, funding, compliance arrangements and forecasts are credible. Available routes depend on the full profile.

Can one provider cover every currency and market?

Sometimes, but complex groups often need more than one provider to separate operating, collection, settlement and treasury needs.
